Protest Sin or Preach the Gospel

I’ve noticed a trend lately that has caused me to ask the question. Are we as believers in Jesus Christ called to protest sin or are we called to preach the gospel? Sin has existed in the world among men since our father Adam sinned against God our creator by taking and eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The world that we live in is a dark and wicked place, but there is good in the world. Much of the beauty that God created still exists today. I have noticed a trend among some of my brethren, especially on facebook that has left me wondering, and asking questions, seeking answers from God in His word. In October of last year my heart was pricked by God over the plight of the unborn. This caused me to do some research and in doing so I found out how far reaching this atrocity is. Dear Neighbor, You were created in the image of God; (Gn 1:27) therefore, you are to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect (Mt 5:48) but are you perfect? God is love but have you hated anyone? God is faithful but have you been unfaithful? God is compassionate and gracious but have you been uncompassionate and ungracious? God is truth but have you lied? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, you have sinned and fall short of his glory. (Rom 3:23) The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23)  How wonderful and marvelous it is to be given what we do not deserve. I work a job for a set hourly wage. Every two weeks, my employer pays me for the hours that I worked, the wages that I have earned. Dear Neighbor, Do you hate sin? To love sin is insanity because the wages of sin is death.  Romans 1:32: and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. Yet, everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (Rom.3:23)  Why? This makes no since at all. Why do we do what is bad for us? Why do we damage our relationships and our bodies? Death and sorrow abound on the earth. I have stood over so many dying, pounding on the chest of a being created in the image of God, in a desperate attempt to keep them alive, knowing that what I am doing is in vain.  We are all slaves to sin. That is why we do what we do, but who will set us free?  Romans 7:24: Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? The answer is through Jesus Christ our Lord!
