Freedom From Debt by Mike Peek We began the year, 2006, deeply in consumer debt. We were a household of four, husband, wife, with two children: a boy, and a girl. We had good jobs and were driving new automobiles. From the outside, we were living the American dream; however, we were in a budgetary crisis. We were living paycheck to paycheck. It was as if our checking account was a money laundering service, moving money from our employer to the debt industry. I was a master juggler; therefore, we never missed a payment and had FICO scores above 800. I knew what we would have available, after making credit card payments, automobile payments, mortgage payments, and utility bills to spend on groceries, clothing, and lifestyle. We would use the amount, between what we owed, and the credit limit to pay for things. I was even able to predict interest, thereby, avoiding going over the credit limits. The Pharisees angered that Jesus would heal a man, in a synagogue, on the Sabbath, conspired to destroy him. After this, Jesus withdrew to the sea and a boat was prepared for him to allow a bit of separation from the large crowed who gathered because of his healings. Jesus went up on a mountain where he called the twelve to be with him, to preach and cast out demons. The crowds made it difficult for Jesus and the twelve to even eat a meal; therefore, his family believed that he had lost his senses but the scribes were saying that he was possessed by the ruler of demons. However, it was not logical for Satan to cast out Satan; therefore, Jesus said that all sins shall be forgiven men except for blasphemes against the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ declared that whoever does the will of God is his brother and sister and mother. The Pharisees had no compassion for others but were strict legalist. Master of Theological Studies

On March 13 th , 2016 I wrote a blog that I named, “Breadth & Depth” announcing that I was beginning classes at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary working towards the Master of Theological Studies degree. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was to take the classes and what an honor it is to have this graduate degree conferred upon me by such a God honoring, Christ exalting, and church loving Seminary.  When I began the classes I really did not know what I was getting myself into. I loved the Lord and wanted to know more about Him and His church. Along the way I learned what theological studies are and their purpose. Therefore, I would like to talk a little bit about theological studies and their purpose. Theological studies follow a fourfold pattern of text, history, truth and application. 1 Text Text refers to the study of the Bible. I took five classes that were specifically biblical studies.
